Price hikes for popular dishes seen at Ramadan bazaar

Roti John, martabak, nasi tomato among dishes with price increase.

SHAH ALAM - Roti John and Martabak are among the popular dishes in the Ramadan bazaar that have experienced an increase in prices this year.

Based on a survey by Sinar Harian at the Ramadan bazaar in Section 13, here, chicken and beef Roti John are being sold at RM10, while Roti John Kambing is priced at RM15, compared to RM8 and RM10 respectively in the previous year.

Chicken and beef Martabak are priced at RM7, compared to RM5 or RM6 in the previous year.

In addition, the price of Tepung Pelita has increased by RM1 per packet containing six pieces, now priced at RM5.

The menu for whole roasted chicken, suitable for a family meal, also experienced a price hike to RM30 per chicken, compared to RM29 last year.

Sugarcane juice, a customer favourite, has also seen a price increase, up to RM2 per bottle for 1.25 litres.
