KUALA LUMPUR - Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah Nasional) has launched the #BerbudiBersama community outreach programme, which took place at Taman Tugu Lawn here in conjunction with its 30th anniversary.

The launch of this initiative also marks the beginning of a series of community outreach efforts planned by the government's strategic investment entity to strengthen ties with the community and create a positive impact for the country.

Khazanah Nasional's Managing Director Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir said the launch of #BerbudiBersama is not only to celebrate Khazanah Nasional's anniversary but also signifies a step forward in fostering the spirit of unity and cooperation among Malaysians of various races and backgrounds.

"With the launch of the #BerbudiBersama initiative, we (Khazanah Nasional and its associated companies) aim to closely engage with the community and share various opportunities and benefits for mutual progress.

“This effort is a sign of respect and appreciation for all the support and trust they have placed in us,” he said during the #BerbudiBersama launching ceremony here today.

The #BerbudiBersama launch was officiated by the Second Finance Minister, Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

At the #BerbudiBersama programme, visitors had the chance to enjoy various activities prepared at over 100 participating stalls, including the Gerai Rakyat operated by local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) offering food and beverages, goods, and various fun activities for children.

The programme was further enlivened with activities such as sharing views, mental health awareness talks, youth skills workshops, entrepreneurship guidance, environmental conservation, and cultural performances.

Creating community value

Commenting further, Amirul said that Khazanah Nasional always stresses the development of a fair and inclusive community as an aspiration to advance the country.

“Therefore, Khazanah Nasional will continue to implement the mandate to develop a fair and inclusive country, so that societal values can be enjoyed by all in areas such as education, economy, business, and more.

"To realise this aspiration, Kazanah Nasional, directly and indirectly through Yayasan Hasanah, Think City, and Taman Tugu, as well as related companies, will continue to strive to provide societal value,” he clarified.

According to Amirul, in line with this aspiration, Khazanah Nasional is also committed to fostering the inclusion and empowerment of marginalised communities, promoting education, enhancing talents, and leading sustainable practices and accountability to expand national development on the principles of equity and prosperity.

"The progress achieved in the past years is not solely ours to celebrate, but it is the result of the collective effort of the entire community and stakeholders in Malaysia,” he noted.

Special programmes

Khazanah Nasional also conducted about 600 Malaysian community development programmes throughout its 30-year establishment period, spending RM2.2 billion on these programmes.

Moreover, implementing these special programmes involved nearly 500 partnership organisations that have benefited over 2.4 million citizens nationwide covering children, youths, women, and others.

“All these efforts would not be successful without the cooperation from our impact delivery entities, namely Yayasan Hasanah, Think City, and Taman Tugu, related Khazanah companies, social entrepreneurs, and everyone who has fully supported Khazanah Nasional,” he said, hoping that such cooperation and support will continue in the coming years.

According to Amirul, Khazanah Nasional's commitment also involves efforts to strengthen socio-economic values, in line with the aspirations of the Madani Malaysia envisioned by the government.
