SHAH ALAM - Upon the arrival of aid in Gaza, chaos erupts as civilians scramble for food, while nearby Israeli tanks unleash gunfire on the desperate crowds, resulting in a tragic loss of at least 80 lives and injuring 400 others.

Palestinian journalist Bisan Owda reports on the grim reality facing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the north of the Gaza Strip, where starvation has become an imminent threat to survival.

In a video posted on her Instagram account today, she said that Palestinians in Gaza are starving to death.

“The only way they can get food is to wait for food. Some aid trucks entered from the south and the north of Gaza via Al-Rashid Street on Gaza Beach.

“Because the amount of aid trucks entering (Gaza) is very limited, maybe once or twice a month, people, fathers and brothers, started to sleep in the streets for weeks now.

“They are waiting for any aid trucks to at least enter during the night so they can get some flour to the family.

“So tonight, at 4am, it happened. Some flour bags entered the north of Gaza Strip and people started running to get that flour, to get that food for their families,” she said.

It was at this moment that Bisan mentioned the Israeli forces stationed nearby opened fire on the desperate crowds, resulting in a staggering loss of life.

“Their blood was mixed with the flour. The mothers and sisters, the family will never bake that flour, will never bake that bread, they will never get back to their homes.

“They said goodbye to the family to get some food and they will never get back to that food again. They were killed,” she added.

Bisan emphasised that Israel is employing the strategy of starvation as a weapon against Palestinians, particularly targeting the northern Gaza Strip with the aim of compelling people to evacuate and empty the area, resulting in casualties when individuals manage to acquire essential food supplies.

“It is not the first time for people (Palestinians) to be killed while taking aid. But at that time, the number of people killed was really high, like 80 families.

“80 families lost the men of the family who were trying to get some food. It is insane. This cannot be normal.

“This is not nothing but the 2024 holocaust. This is a holocaust. This is a real genocide,” she said.

Israel launched an assault on Gaza after Hamas fighters attacked Israel on October 7, killing at least 1,139 people and seizing about 250 as hostages

Since those attacks, Israel has bombarded the Palestinian territory from air, land and sea and launched a ground invasion. More than 30,000 people have been killed in the Israeli assault, according to Palestinian authorities.
