SHAH ALAM - A recent incident at a rest area (R&R) in Pagoh highlighted the heartwarming actions of workers who reunited a lost child with his family.

TikTok user @shahilashah recounted the stressful moment she realised her son was accidentally left behind after departing the rest stop.

Upon receiving the alarming news, the family immediately returned and found their son safe, thanks to the compassionate intervention of Bangladeshi workers from the Petron station.

In a 30-second video posted on TikTok, @shahilashah can be seen visibly distressed after answering the call and learning that her son had been inadvertently left behind at the R&R.

Reacting swiftly to the alarming news, the family immediately turned and rushed to the Pagoh R&R to retrieve their son, who had been inadvertently left behind when the person sitting in the back of the vehicle was unaware of his absence due to sleep.

Upon their arrival at the rest area, the mother was relieved to find her son safe and sound, under the care of compassionate workers from Bangladesh at the Petron station.

Expressing her gratitude on social media, she commended the workers for their kindness and generosity, recounting how they not only lent her son their phone to contact her but also provided him with bread and water while awaiting the family's return.

She singled out a worker named Ismail and his two colleagues from the Petron station for their exemplary care and kindness towards her son during the ordeal.

"I am forever grateful. Some foreign workers are so kind-hearted," she said in her social media post, stressing the invaluable support and compassion extended by the workers during the challenging situation.

In heartwarming footage shared alongside her post, the mother's son can be seen smiling and walking towards the family's car upon their arrival at the station, marking a happy reunion after a momentary scare.

The 30-second video shared by Shahila Shah, which has now accumulated 3.9 million views on TikTok, has elicited responses from other TikTok users.

Many of them shared similar experiences, in which they were left at RNR. TikTok user by the name @nxrulfarhana shared her story, “I have experienced this too; I once stepped out of the car to use the restroom at RNR Temerloh, and when I returned, my dad's car was gone, but I could not call anyone because I was still in school at the time and did not have a phone.”

Another TikTok user, @zubeilarafik also shared her story.

“I also experienced being left at RNR Gurun, and thankfully, there were kindhearted individuals who assisted me and safely reunited me with my parents," she said.
