Husband assaults wife for not helping with house chores

AMPANG - Furious because his wife did not help with housework, a man went to the extreme by assaulting the woman until she sustained injuries in the incident on Monday.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said the suspect became aggresive when his wife did not want to help him with the chores at home.

He said there was an argument between the couple at their home in Pandan Perdana, near here at 9.30am.

"As a result of the argument, the suspect damaged the victim's laptop and hit her, causing injury to her right hand.

"The victim (wife) works as an interior designer," he said in a statement, today.

Following the incident, he said, the Ampang Jaya police made an arrest on a 36-year-old man on Tuesday at 6.20pm in Pandan Perdana.

He said initial investigations found that the man was not working and he was tested negative for drugs.

He said the suspect has no previous criminal record adding that the suspect has been remanded for three days until Friday..
