Social media's 'Hot Daddy' claims trial to selling pornographic videos online
Father of three faces court over alleged escort service ads
KUALA LUMPUR - A father of three, nicknamed 'Hot Daddy' on social media, together with two women, pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here on Friday.
They were charged with advertising escort services last week.
Hasli Ikhwan Arif Zul Hasli, 32, Norhidayah Mahadi, 24, and Norshazrina Md Zamri, 27, entered their pleas before Judge Siti Aminah Ghazali.
All three were self-employed, with Norshazrina also managing a private company.
The trio allegedly advertised the services via the X application on Jan 16.
The trio faced charges under Section 372 (1) (e) of the Penal Code, combined with Section 34, risking up to 15 years in jail, caning, and a fine if convicted.
During the proceedings, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nidzuwan Abd Latif did not propose bail for all the accused.
"If the court allows bail, I propose that the amount be set at RM20,000 for each accused.
"This amount is suitable considering the public interest besides the seriousness of the criminal charges," he said.
Meanwhile, lawyer Mohd Faris Abrar Othman, representing all the accused, appealed for his clients to be granted bail at a minimum rate.
He argued that no element indicated they would flee as his clients were locals and their families lived here.
"Hasli Ikhwan needs to take care of his father, who has a history of kidney disease, besides having three children aged 12, 10, and four.
"Norhidayah has no fixed income while Norshazrina needs to support her mother who has heart disease," he said, handling the case with lawyer Muhammad Faiz Mustafa.
After hearing submissions from both sides, Siti Aminah allowed each accused to be released on bail of RM10,000 with one surety and set Feb 28 for document submission.
It was reported that police had arrested the individual known as "Hot Daddy" who allegedly recorded and sold lewd videos, were arrested at a house in Janda Baik in Pahang.
