BANGKOK - Thailand’s Immigration Bureau has launched the new ‘90 days online notification service’ for foreigners staying over 90 days in Thailand.

Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau and representative of relevant sectors, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ittipol Itthisarnronnachai, said the new service is in line with the economic policy plan announced by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, which seeks to attract more tourists and investors to Thailand in order to drive economic growth and boost the tourism industry.

"The new service by the Immigration Bureau will alleviate and shorten the reporting process for foreigners residing or doing business in Thailand,” he said in a statement.

Earlier, he launched the new ‘90 days online notification service’ for foreigners at Immigration Division 1 at the Government Complex here today.

Ittipol said the service will first be available to the investors who are sponsored by the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), with plans to extend it to foreigners holding other types of visas in the future.

Those planning to use the system can do so 15 days before the due date, anywhere and anytime via online channels, including mobile phones, tablets, or computers.

The registration process is straightforward, where users are required to register at www.immigration.go.th, receive a password via email, and log in to fill in their personal information and notify of their 90-day stay in the system.

The notification result will be communicated via email or through the immigration website.

At present, foreigners are required to declare their 90-day stay through 3 methods - visiting the Immigration Bureau, authorising someone to report on their behalf, or sending the notification form through registered mail.

This new online service is expected to bring additional convenience to foreigners through the immigration bureau's online service channel.

Besides the ‘90 days online notification service’, the Immigration Bureau also offers an e-Extension service, allowing foreigners to extend their visas by filling in their personal information online and making an appointment with the immigration officer for identity authentication, with the visa sticker issued within 5 minutes.

This service also makes it more convenient for foreigners to complete their visa procedure. - BERNAMA
