KUALA NERUS - Pas has been urged to refrain from creating an impression that a change in government is imminent, as it has been causing anxiety among the people.

The Amanah secretary-general Muhammad Faiz Fadzil stressed that such a change is unlikely, given the strength and stability of the Unity Government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Fadzil argued that promoting the narrative of a government change reflects Pas's extremist stance, demonstrating a lack of respect for the people's decision in the last 15th General Election.

He criticised the party for engaging in issues related to the change of government, the "Dubai Step," and other matters, labelling these actions as extreme and disrespectful towards election results, constitutional structures, legal systems, and the overall functioning of the country.

"This extreme attitude of Pas needs to be rejected by Malaysians.

"Their dreams, plays, and tricks are baseless and only serve to manipulate sentiments, causing unnecessary anxiety among the people, which is detrimental to the country," Fadzil said during a press conference after a programme at the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu Chancellery Building on yesterday.

Responding to Pas's recent statements regarding confidence in a change of government, Fadzil added that the party has been cultivating extremism among its supporters, neglecting the concerns of grassroots communities.

He urged Pas to focus on being an efficient opposition that contributes to the country's development.

"The Unity Government is a stable government.

"Give us time to implement programmes, agenda and solve people's problems and develop the country.

"At the same time, stop dreaming of changing the government, don't continue with extreme attitudes.

"This is because Pas has promised its supporters that they will become the government.

"So when it doesn't come true, they don't know how to hide their faces and now they are more desperate with the narrative they themselves started," he added.
