SHAH ALAM - The treacherous act of throwing a Molotov cocktail at Beruas Member of Parliament’s residence residence resulting in the burning of several vehicles belonging to the DAP leader is utterly unacceptable and warrants legal action against those responsible, said Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Secretary-General.

Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said that the act of treason went against the law and violates the principles of community living in the country, known for its peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.

"The police are urged to identify the mastermind behind this treacherous act and take legal action against them.

"Simultaneously, Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham’s attempt to link Bersatu and Pas to the incident is highly irresponsible.

"It is essential to refrain from dragging unrelated parties into this matter.

"Interference in Islamic affairs by external parties should be avoided, as it can lead to unnecessary tensions within the Muslim community," Hamzah said in a statement.

He said that instead of making baseless accusations, Ngeh should consider apologising and reflect on his statements.

“The incident served as a reminder for all parties to exercise caution when expressing views, especially on sensitive matters.

"We must be mindful of our words, as we do not want a small spark to damage the unity and peace we have worked hard to build,” he added.

Yesterday, a "Molotov cocktail" was thrown into Ngeh's residence, which caused a fire that destroyed one of his cars and damaged two others.

Ngeh had since said that he suspected the attack on his residence was related to the recent statement by Pas and PN.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain reportedly said that the police were looking at various angles in their investigation into the alleged arson attack, including collecting intelligence information from the Special Branch and also public tip-offs.
