IPOH - Police are hunting for the individual suspected of hurling a molotov cocktail into the house of Bruas MP, Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham in Ayer Tawar which damaged a car this morning.

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said Manjung police received a call from Ngeh himself to inform the incident at 2.55 am.

"The incident damaged a Mercedes Benz, while two other vehicles sustained effects of heat,” he said in a statement this morning.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code (mischief by fire) and there will a thorough investigation from all angles.

He advised the public not to make any speculations which can jeopardise investigation and those with information on the incident can contact the Investigating officer, ASP Mohd Azalan Ab Karim at 019-3927837 to assist investigation.

Earlier, DAP urged the Home Ministry and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to give serious attention after the residence of Ngeh was hurled with a molotov cocktail in an early morning incident. - BERNAMA
