SHAH ALAM - Speculation of a plan to overthrow the government through the 'Dubai Move’ was deliberately created to distract the people from the failure of the unity government to deal with the people's issues at the moment.

Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council member Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof claimed that such attempts will always continue, thus inviting political instability and hindering plans for the national economy.

"Dubai Step is empty talk that is deliberately held by bloggers (or) people who are paid to divert the view.

"However, the attempt (to topple the government) will always continue, so the government has to be sensitive to what is happening today," he said in Wacana Sinar, edition 427, titled Dubai Move: Is it real or an 'attempt'? which was broadcast live on all Sinar Harian digital platforms on Tuesday.

Also invited as panelists were Ilham Centre Executive Director Hisomuddin Bakar and PKR Information Secretary Iswardy Morni, while Ismail Adnan acted as moderator.

In a related matter, Redzuan believed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was now facing difficulties in managing the unity government.

He said various issues, including issues involving the 3Rs (race, religion, and royal institution), cannot be brought up when it is the right of every citizen in this country.

"Let's not forget the Social Contract, what is enshrined in the Constitution (and) the majority of this country.
