'Nature calls' - Tourist caught on CCTV defecating outside Cameron Highlands homestay
SHAH ALAM - When nature calls, you answer, but a recent incident in Cameron Highlands took it to a whole new level as a tourist, believed to be from China, was caught on closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) answering the call of nature right in front of a homestay.
In a shocking one-minute video that quickly went viral on social media (formerly Twitter, now on platform X), the woman, accompanied by a friend, hastily left the scene after the deed was done, shielded by her friend holding out a shawl for privacy.
The video, with two million views and counting, has sparked widespread disgust and outrage among internet users who were appalled by the unhygienic act.
Social media comments poured in, with one user expressing, 'No matter the urgency, she should have found a proper place for her business.'
"At least she could have chosen a drain, not the middle of the road!" another user commented.
According to a report by a local portal, netizens on the original (now-deleted) Facebook post also commented that the women’s behaviour would tarnish the image of other well-behaved tourists from China.
There is currently no information on whether the owner of the homestay filed a report against the two individuals, but since the CCTV footage was posted publicly, it can be assumed that they will probably do something to prevent something like this from happening again.
