Cops tracking man suspected of splashing red paint on cars, houses in Penang
KEPALA BATAS - Police are tracking down a man who is believed to have splashed red paint on several vehicles and houses of residents in Taman Kuala Bekah, Penaga here early yesterday morning.
Seberang Perai Utara police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Asri Shafie said that they have, so far, received four police reports on the incident.
"The reports involved four cars and four houses splashed with red paint. Based on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording, the incident occurred at about 4.30 am,” he said when contacted today.
He said preliminary investigations found that one of the four complainants had obtained a loan online via Facebook in early November.
He said the person claimed that he had repaid the loan but was still being harassed by the money lender for additional payments.
Mohd Asri sought the cooperation of all parties to relay any information regarding the incident to investigating officer Sgt Mohamad Azhar Abd Sukor or Sgt Norlida Bidrus at 04-5672222 or 04-3232422 to assist in the investigations.
