KLANG - Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) expresses its gratitude for the services and sacrifices of the late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who served as the Deputy President of the party.

Salahuddin who was also the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister was nicknamed 'Bapa Rahmah' following his concern for the rising cost of living for the people.

The former Pulai Member of Parliament was also known as an individual who introduced various initiatives under the ‘Payung Rahmah’ that the public described him as one of the best ministers in the unity government.

In commemoration of Salahuddin's contributions, his younger brother Ghazali Ayub received tokens of appreciation during the 2023 Amanah National Convention.

These tokens of appreciation, in the form of plaques and memory picture frames, were presented by Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

For the record, Salahuddin died at the age of 61 on July 23 while still being monitored in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) Alor Setar.

It is understood that he was rushed to the HSB emergency ward due to nausea and vomiting, before being diagnosed with a brain haemorrhage by a specialist doctor.

Salahuddin left behind a widow Datin Seri Fatimah Taha and six children.
