Amanah open to Pas joining Unity Government - Adly
KLANG - Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) is willing to welcome Pas into the Unity Government to promote political stability and serve the nation's best interests, said Amanah Vice President Adly Zahari.
While acknowledging Pas as a previous political opponent, Adly stressed that national well-being takes precedence over partisan rivalry.
"Sometimes, for the sake of the people, former rivals can become allies.
"Our shared commitment to protecting the public good outweighs individual or party interests," he said during a press conference after the inauguration of the Amanah Women's Convention (Awan) here today.
Adly stressed Amanah's openness to collaboration with all parties within the Unity Government.
"We support Pas joining the government and signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) if it contributes to greater political stability," he added.
He pointed to examples in Malaysian history where former adversaries built alliances for the common good, and reiterated Amanah's ongoing commitment to working with diverse political entities in the national interest.
Beyond the issue of Pas's potential inclusion, Adly emphasised the current priority of strengthening the Unity Government agenda.
"Just as environmental issues shouldn't be politicised, neither should the unity agenda," he stressed.
Adly reaffirmed Amanah's dedication to promoting Islamic awareness within the community through approachable methods.
"Each Muslim Malay party has its unique role, and Amanah's focus is on spreading Islamic values through a simple and inclusive approach," he explained.
He said that adopting an overly exclusive approach based on race or ideology could be detrimental to Malaysia's future and advocated for embracing the nation's diversity.
