KOTA TINGGI – It was a love story that endured until the very end of their lives for Mohamad Basar and Norazizah Jasri, both aged 60 from Felda Air Tawar 4 here, as they died within a mere two hours of each other.

Kota Tinggi District Police Chief Superintendent Hussin Zamora reported that Norazizah had been admitted to Kota Tinggi Hospital (HKT) on Monday for treatment of a lung infection.

Unfortunately, he said she did not survive, succumbing to internal organ failure at 3am on Wednesday.

Husin said upon her passing, neighbours visited the couple's home around 4am to inform Norazizah's husband.

"They found him unconscious in the prayer room of the house," he said.

Hussin said the neighbours promptly rushed Mohamad to HKT to receive further care but tragically, he was declared dead around 5am, with the cause of death attributed to a stroke.

The couple, who was understood had no children, was laid to rest at the Islamic Cemetery in Felda Air Tawar 4 around 11.30am the same morning.
