Police investigate Papagomo regarding video defaming PM
KUALA LUMPUR - The police have confirmed an investigation into Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, or better known as Papagomo, regarding a video defaming Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Criminal Investigation Department (Investigation and Legislation) Bukit Aman Deputy Director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that the investigation is being conducted by Bukit Aman's Classified Crime Investigation Unit, Prosecution and Legal Division (D5).
"We are currently investigating Papagomo regarding a 'live' video lasting 1 hour, 32 minutes, and 50 seconds that defames the Prime Minister.
"The video was also uploaded on YouTube last Saturday," he said in a statement today.
Rusdi mentioned that the case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, Section 504 of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act of Malaysia 1998.
"The case is still under investigation, andwe would like to advise the public not to engage in speculation or comments that may disrupt the investigation process.
"We would also like to remind the public that decisive action will be taken without compromise against those who use social media platforms to comment on or manipulate issues that touch upon public order, moral principles, and defamation," he added.
