Puchong landslide: Soil movement detected, cement in front of houses crumble
PUCHONG - The cement in front of the gates of several houses in the Taman Wawasan area collapses again following soil movement at the area on Sunday.
Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner A A Anbalagan said the soil movement was detected at about 3.30 pm at the location of the previous collapse.
"Monitoring has been carried out and we found that another collapse has occurred involving the cement of the front gate of several houses at the same location of prior incident.
"However, the incident did not involve any injuries because the evacuation of the area had already been carried out earlier," he said in a statement on Monday.
He said the piling works were being carried out.
"A total of 46 iron piles were planted since Sunday and will continue today (Monday).
"In addition, the process of removing buried vehicles is also actively underway," he said.
He said that the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) that was opened earlier was closed after all the victims had left.
"Before this, there were eight individuals from one family in the PPS, but they have already left.
"The PPS officially closed at about 9pm (Sunday)," he said.
On Saturday, residents of nine houses in Jalan Wawasan 3/9 and 3/4, here were asked to evacuate due to landslides caused by heavy rain.
The 7.30pm incident also saw four vehicles being buried.
However, the incident did not involve any injuries or loss of life.
