Five prominent missing children cases in Malaysia
SINAR DAILY REPORTERThere have been several high-profile cases of Malaysian children disappearing over the decades, with several victims still not found to this day.
Among the most intriguing mysteries, are often cases of people vanishing without a trace. However, these stories are all the more tragic when they involve innocent children.
Here are just a few of those unsolved mysteries. Hopefully, the fates of these unfortunate souls will eventually be uncovered.
Nurin Jazlin Jazimin, 8 years old
Reported missing while going out to the night market to buy hairpins near her home in Seksyen 1 Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur around 8 pm, August 20, 2007. Her body was found in a sports bag left in front of a shop in PJS 1/48, Petaling Jaya.
William Yau Zhen Zhon, 10 years old
Reported missing after leaving Kedai Elektronik Onking, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya on January 16, 2013.
His body was found on January 24 near Kampung Sungai Sireh Jetty, Pelabuhan Klang.
There was a blow discovered on his head and old scars on the victim's body believed to be from abuse.
Sharlinie Mohd Nashar, 5 years old
Reportedly kidnapped on January 9, 2008, while she was walking home from playing with her sister at the playground, approximately 200 meters from her family's Taman Medan Petaling Jaya, residence.
Sharlinie has not been located as of yet, and there are no strong leads.
Nurul Nadirah Abdullah, 5 years old
Commonly referred to as Dirang, she was reported missing on March 1 2012, when she went out to buy instant noodles and eggs at a grocery store below her house in Flat Seri Delima, Bandar Seri Alam. Her body was found charred in a hole in an abandoned housing site in Damai, Masai on March 8 2012.
Muhammad Asmawi Jalaludin, 11 years old
Reported missing while on his way back to his home in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur on March 9, 2008. Asmawi disappeared after returning home to play with a friend.
Until now Asmawi has not been found.
