PETALING JAYA - The police found a sock at the water reservoir near the location where Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin’s body was discovered.

However, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said it could not be confirmed yet whether it belonged to the six-year-old autistic boy.

He said the sock was among the items that needed to be sent to the laboratory for further analysis.

"We (the police) found only one sock and it needs further confirmation whether it belongs to the victim or not," he said, today.

Yesterday, it was reported that the police received assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department and the Selangor Irrigation and Drainage Department to pump out water from the reservoir near the site where the body was found.

The process was carried out to see if there was any new evidence, but there were no new findings.

The water pumping process in the reservoir was resumed this morning.

Earlier, the police forensics unit conducted a door-to-door examination which took about two hours at Block R of the Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai and brought out two boxes from the residential area.

More than 25 members from the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters conducted the examination, which started at 8.40pm and ended at 10.30pm.

The examination focused on the second and third floors of the four-story blocks.
