Six years without contact, mother appeals for son's return

KUANTAN - A mother pleads for her youngest son to return home after being unable to reach him for six years.

Chang Moi Ling, 67, expressed concern over the disappearance of Chin Kim Choy, 40, who was working in Singapore in 2017, as all attempts to trace her son had failed.

She also feared that her son might have become a victim of a human trafficking syndicate, as there has been no news about Chin, not even through social media.

"The last time I met Ah Choy (Chin) was during Chinese New Year in 2017.

"After that, we lost contact because his phone number and Facebook account were blocked.

"Due to many cases involving human trafficking syndicates, I lodged a report here on Dec 2 and a report was also lodged in Singapore last year.

"However, until now, there has been no news about him, but I was informed that my son has never left Singapore," she said during a press conference at the Semambu State Assembly Service Centre office here, today.

Also present were Semambu assemblyman Chan Chun Kuang and Public Relations Officer of the International Malaysian Humanitarian Organisation (MHO) Daniel Khoo.

Chang appealed to anyone who knew her son to inform her about his current whereabouts.

"To Ah Choy, I want to find you. It has been a long time since you last met me.

"Do you still me?," she said.

Meanwhile, Khoo said Chang had contacted MHO for assistance and organisation was currently seeking information from the Customs and Immigration Departments regarding the matter.
