Weekend horror in KL: Son arrested for brutal murder of parents

IN a heartbreaking turn of events, a 42-year-old man stands accused of murdering his parents in their home in Kampung Sungai Penchala, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

The shocking incident unfolded following an altercation between the suspect, believed to be a drug addict, and his elderly parents, aged 72 and 82.

During the dispute, the son reportedly grabbed a sharp object and mercilessly stabbed his parents multiple times.

The disturbing episode came to light when a neighbor heard a woman's desperate cries for help during the Maghrib prayer.

Contrary to previous observations of the son assisting with household chores, the dispute took a violent turn, prompting the suspect to flee into a nearby forest.

Witnesses immediately contacted the police.

Upon reaching the crime scene, law enforcement discovered the couple lying in a pool of blood in their living room, succumbing to multiple stab wounds.

The investigation uncovered various pieces of evidence, including a knife blade, a knife handle, a wooden stick, wooden fragments, a helmet, a round wooden table, and a pair of black shoes believed to belong to the suspect.

Post-mortem examinations at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre revealed three fatal stab wounds on the victims' head, neck, and face.

The suspect, who had recently been released on bail for a drug-related offence, tested positive for three types of drugs.

Police efforts led to the arrest of the suspect at the Penchala Sprint Highway Tunnel, where he was subsequently remanded for seven days to facilitate further investigation.

The case is being examined under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
