Zayn Rayyan murder: Police analyse dashcam recordings, detected 'movement'
PETALING JAYA - The police are scrutinising several dashcam recordings obtained from vehicles parked near Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai as part of their investigation into the death of six-year-old Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that movement was detected in the footage but did not disclose whether it captured individuals or objects.
"We are still reviewing the recordings.
"While movement is present, we need to analyse the footage further," he said.
He declined to reveal specifics of the analysis, citing ongoing investigations.
The police were also collaborating with the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) to pump out water from the riverbank reservoir where Zayn's body was discovered.
This initiative aimed to uncover new evidence and clues related to the case.
"While no significant discoveries have been made thus far, the efforts continued to support the investigation," said Hussein.
Zayn's body was found in the river near Idaman Apartment last week at about10pm.
Residents conducting a search operation discovered the remains, leading to suspicions of foul play.
The investigation remained ongoing and the police urged anyone with information to come forward.
