Zayn Rayyan’s murder: Police conducting door-to-door checks

PETALING JAYA – Police are not only scouring the crime scene for physical evidence related to the murder of autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin but they have started a door-to-door search to find more leads.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the police are working hard to make sure that the perpetrators of the brutal crime would face the music.

"There are 18 residential blocks comprising 2,484 units of houses here.

"We started the door-to-door search Thursday night and have completed (searching) one of the residential blocks in Apartment Idaman today," he told reporters at the Damansara Damai Apartment compound here today.

Hussein added that the police investigation team had also sent the case's items and the forensic examination results to the chemistry department to obtain further forensic information.

He clarified that the results were expected to be obtained within the next two or three days.

He added that these forensic findings were expected to aid the police in obtaining detailed information that could lead to the discovery of the suspect.

"These findings are crucial to obtain fingerprints, DNA and other factors that could help identify those involved in the victim's murder," he said.

Zayn, who was reported missing since noon in Damansara Damai, last Tuesday, was found dead in a stream located 200 metres away from his residence, on Wednesday night.

The boy was last seen at his home in Blok R, Apartment Idaman, Jalan PJU 10/1 Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya at 12pm.

Following that, the body of the child was sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for post-mortem.

An autopsy revealed injuries to the child's neck and body related to criminal acts, confirming the police's belief that the victim was killed.
