SHAH ALAM - After almost a month of the obscene conversation video recordings involving former director-general of the Community Communications Department (J-Kom) Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff went viral, department assistant Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani has initiated legal action against two individuals.

Wahab 33, sent a notice of demand to the J-Kom Training and Education Division Director Muhamad Hakim Ramlee and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Information Committee Member Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard.

Through the letter of claim (LOD) sighted by Sinar, the law firm Faizal Rahman & Co (FRC), representing Wahab, submitted eight claims each against Hakim and Chegubard. Among the demands in question were to delete all submitted videos and edited videos, stop defaming his client by making, publishing, and/or causing any insulting and defamatory videos and pay compensation in an undisclosed amount.

Through the letter of demand, FRC also revealed the role played by Hakim in the viral video.

The law firm explained that the dissemination of the edited video had caused his client to be portrayed as engaging in immoral or homosexual activities, as someone who engaged in a homosexual relationship with his superiors and that part of the government encouraged homosexual activity.

It also insinuated that Wahab was not a good Muslim and was an immoral civil servant.

Meanwhile, Wahab's lawyer Faizal Rahman confirmed that the demand letter had been submitted to Hakim and Chegubard on Friday afternoon.

However, he said he could not confirm whether Hakim was 'Mr H' as revealed by Wahab before.

"I have no authority to confirm that Muhamad Hakim is 'Mr H'. I was just instructed by Wahab to sue Hakim and Chegubard. We have given them 48 hours of notice.

"Whether Hakim is 'Mr. H' or not, let the police do the work," he told Sinar Premium on Friday.

At a press conference on Nov 17, Wahab claimed that he was the scapegoat after being instructed by an individual known as 'Mr H' to record a video call with Agus in order to bring the latter down.

He also claimed that the video recording of the conversation, which went viral on social media, was fake and edited by irresponsible parties.

Controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin later linked 'Mr H' to Hakim, who is also known as Ustaz Hakim Ramlee. Hakim later denied that he was 'Mr H' while describing Raja Petra's accusation as malicious. At press time, Sinar Premium is in the midst of getting Hakim to comment on the lawsuit notice.
