Pas or Umno being deceptive? - Tuan Ibrahim
SHAH ALAM - Pas vice-president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has slammed Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for his statement describing Pas as "gila talak" (divorce-crazy) for allegedly wanting to collaborate with the party again.
Tuan Ibrahim said that Zahid's statement left him confused about whether it was Pas or Umno that was being deceptive at the moment.
He added a touch of humour, referencing a verse from former Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan: "If you go fishing, don't forget to bring bait. If you don't want to be deceived, don't vote for Pakatan Harapan."
He made these remarks while commenting on Zahid's statement, where Pas was labelled as "gila talak" for not rejecting the possibility of collaborating with Umno.
However, Tuan Ibrahim clarified that Pas had not dreamed of working with Umno but had done so in the past for the unity of the Muslim community.
"Zahid should inform Isham Jalil (former Umno Supreme Council Member) because he said Pas needs Umno's support.
"I am only responding to the need for the unity of Islam in the current Malaysian context.
"In the context of uniting the ummah, this is not our (Pas) agenda, but it is the agenda and command of Allah SWT for the Muslim community to unite, enough of division.
"So, the question of who wants to unite or who refuses to unite depends on each person's decision.
"If they feel there is no need, then so be it," Tuan Ibrahim said via a Facebook post.
