KUALA LUMPUR - Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIGP) Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has responded firmly to various allegations and accusations made against him.

In a statement addressing the public, Ayob stressed his commitment to integrity and accountability, inviting thorough investigations into any claims of wrongdoing.

This statement pertained to the trust and responsibility placed on him as a public servant.

"Various allegations and accusations have been made against me. If it is true, please investigate, and also investigate all members of my family," he said.

He said holding any position, whether small or large, was a responsibility and if it is misused or easily 'bought' by certain parties, the country will perish due to such negligence.

"Everyone needs to be committed and consistent in carrying out the entrusted duties, besides striving for positive change.

"Plant the commitment to make a difference. Please don't bother with what people say because I don't care.

"So if there are allegations or accusations against me, if untrue, please investigate and take action. I have no problem," he said earlier today.

Ayob made these comments when invited as a panellist for an integrity forum in conjunction with the Farmer's Organisation Board (LPP) Integrity Day 2023 celebration.

The forum was moderated by Shamsul Ghau Ghau along with another invited panellist, Pencetus Ummah (PU) Amin, whose real name is Mohamad Amirul Amin Maulana Lokman Hakim.

Ayob said that every leader must have the courage to reprimand or take action against subordinates under their control.

He stressed that true responsibilities should not be set aside just to be praised and remain popular, so as to be supported by those around.

He said all positions and ranks will 'disappear' when someone has completed their service or retired.

Therefore, he said, do not care about what people will say if they want to make a change for the better.

"If there is misconduct involving officers or members, especially corruption, I will not compromise, and decisive action will be taken.

"As long as I am entrusted with the existing responsibility, I will fulfill it consistently.

"To bring about change, it needs to start from the 'top,' and then subordinates will follow in doing the right things," he said.
