PETALING JAYA - Instinct made a witness and volunteer, Faizol Najib Abdul Naim search in the area at the end of the creek for 6-year-old autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.
"I had a feeling to search in the area at the end of the creek even though the Tracking Dog Unit (K9) was already searching in this area yesterday (Tuesday).” He and four other residents of Apartment Idaman Damansara Damai, together with a police team, were supposed to search from house to house for the boy.
Faizol 45, claimed that after that, he looked in the shrubbery behind the apartment building and proceeded to search at the creek's end.
"The situation in the surrounding area is very dark; when I looked at the river, I saw the whole body lying on its side," he said when approached on Wednesday.
He claimed that both he and the residents checked the condition of the child involved.
"I was devastated when it was confirmed that the child found was Zayn Rayyan; he was completely clothed in his school uniform, the same as the picture that had gone viral." "I immediately called my other friends and informed the police about the discovery of the child," he said.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid, who was there at the scene, also attested to the victim's discovery around 10 p.m.
According to reports on Wednesday, Mohamad Fakhrudin stated that his party was notified at 6:36 p.m. on Tuesday about the missing youngster.
The child was last seen in the residential area, dressed in black school shoes, black jeans, and a collared T-shirt with a school badge.
