SHAH ALAM - Amanah President Mohamad Sabu has taken a swipe at Pas leaders for allegedly being 'bewildered' by the organisation of a concert during the Loy Kratong Festival in Bachok last Friday.

Mohamad stated that Pas leaders seem to be adopting a more liberal stance, much to the annoyance of some voters.

"Pas leaders want to appear liberal too, but voters get angry. Those in Bachok want to watch concerts too," Mohamad said at the Madani Unity Mega Ceramah in Chukai, Kemaman, last night.

"They (Pas leaders) were 'bewildered' with the concert," he added.

The organiser of the Loy Krathong Festival concert in Bachok is facing a fine of up to RM10,000 for breaching conditions set by the authorities.

Kelantan local government, housing, health and environment committee chairman Hilmi Abdullah said the organiser had a permit for the event, but it failed to comply with certain rules.

Specifically, the organiser featured Thai singers who did not adhere to the dress code and allowed Muslims into the concert, Hilmi said.

His comments were in response to a demand by Kelantan Wanita PKR chief Nor Azmiza Mamat for the state government to investigate the event after a 30-second video featuring singers in scanty attire at the concert went viral.

Hilmi said his office investigated the matter and held a hearing on Monday (Nov 27) involving representatives of various parties, including the Bachok Islamic Tourism City District Council, the police, religious officials, and the organisers.
