AEON Malaysia donates 70 motorcycles to empower ILKBS youth
KUALA LUMPUR - A total of 70 used motorcycles were donated to the Youth Skills Development Dision of the Youth and Sports Ministry at AEON Mall Alpha Angle here on Tuesday.
The donation from the AEON Malaysia Foundation aims to assist selected B40 students for skill training, especially at the Youth and Sports Skills Training Institute (ILKBS).
AEON Chief Human Respurces Officer Dr Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi said these motorcycles were among the vehicles used during the AEON Blessings Ramadan campaign by the AEON Malaysia Foundation.
He said the campaign was one of AEON's initiatives to help youth affected during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"We are grateful to be able to donate 70 motorcycles to ILKBS and are delighted to collaborate with the ministry in the Youth Development Programme," he said during the handover ceremony at AEON Mall Alpha Angle.
The session saw Kasuma handing over the motorcycles to division director Shahrul Affendi Baharudin, and witnessed by Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim.
The ceremony also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AEON and ministry’s division.
Kasuma said via this MoU, AEON and the ministry would collaborate in providing industrial training placements or On-Job-Training (OJT), job opportunities for ILKBS students, advisory services, and participation in the ILKBS Career Fest programme organised by the ministry.
"This initiative aligns with AEON's vision to support Sustainable Development Goal 8, promoting sustainable economic development and providing comprehensive, productive, and suitable employment opportunities for all," he said.
