KUALA LUMPUR - The police are coordinating with the lawyer of Assistant Officer of the Community Communications Department (J-Kom), Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani, to schedule a date for recording his statement.

Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said Wahab was a vital witness to assist in the investigation regarding the case of a viral video recording of an obscene conversation linked to the former Director General of J-Kom, Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff.

"We are aware of Wahab's health issues and are currently liaising with his lawyer," Razarudin said when contacted.

Reports indicated that Wahab is grappling with depression and requires time before he can provide his statement to the police.

Faizal Abd Rahman, representing Wahab's lawyer, stressed their cooperation with the police in the ongoing investigation.

Razarudin, on Sunday, urged Wahab to assist in expediting the investigation's conclusion.

Wahab's testimony is crucial to ascertain the involvement of an individual referred to as "Mr H" in the matter.

Wahab, in a previous press conference, claimed that Mr H masterminded the recording of his conversation with Agus.
