SHAH ALAM – The Community Communications Department (J-Kom) officer implicated in a lewd video scandal is currently receiving treatment for major depression, according to his lawyer.

Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jailani, who along with former J-Kom director-general Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff claimed that the video implicating them was doctored, was scheduled to provide a statement to the police yesterday.

However, his lawyer, Faizal Rahman, said that the appointment had to be rescheduled due to Wahab's mental health issues.

"Wahab is currently suffering from major depression and is undergoing treatment.

"I have assured the police that Wahab will provide his statement within this week," Faizal was quoted as saying by FMT.

Two weeks ago, a recording of a video call between Agus and Wahab in which the two discussed lewd acts surfaced online.

The duo subsequently held a press conference, denying the video's authenticity and asserting that it had been manipulated.

Wahab maintained that the original video, which he had recorded, did not contain any audio.

He denied being coerced into recording the video but claimed that he was manipulated by a "Mr H" within the department.

Agus had resigned as J-Kom chief ahead of the scandal after being pressured to either step down or take leave by an individual who possessed the video.
