BANGI - Assistant officer at the Community Communications Department (J-Kom) Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani, 33, claims to have been directed by an individual by the name ‘Mr H’ to record a video of his conversation with former J-Kom director-general Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff.

Wahab said the conspiracy was orchestrated by Mr H, who held a high position in J-Kom.

He said Mr H also promised him a high position in J-Kom if he helped record a video conversation with Agus.

"Around November 2023, I met Mr H at his office. From there, several meetings were arranged by Mr H, including taking me to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and hotels around Kuala Lumpur to meet individuals Mr H says were influential.

"During my meetings with Mr H, I was informed that he supposedly received information from certain parties that Agus was involved in immoral activities.

"Mr H also convinced me that he was supported by several influential individuals who wanted to bring down Agus and he showed me his WhatsApp conversations with these influential supporters," he said in a press conference, last night.

On Thursday, a video resembling Agus circulated on social media, drawing criticism from various parties.

Wahab explained that the video conversation actually had no audio content.

However, he was surprised to find that the video had been distributed through a Facebook account.

“What was even more surprising was that the video recording had been edited and manipulated by irresponsible parties using voice-over techniques to make it appear as if both Datuk and I were involved in immoral and unethical activities.

"I want to emphasise that the audio content in the video is fake, fabricated and untrue," he said.

He clarified that he had provided his lawyer with a list of names of individuals allegedly involved in the plot, including several high-ranking individuals within J-Kom.

On Thursday, Agus confirmed that he had submitted his resignation letter as the director-general of J-Kom to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
