Gaza: Malaysians do not seem to share the same opinion - Tun M
NURATIKAH ATHILYA HASSANSHAH ALAM - Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has described that Malaysians do not share the same opinion on Israel's occupation of Palestine.
The former premier said some of them believed that the ongoing events stemmed from the differences between the Palestinian and Jewish populations, which led to the outbreak of war.
However, he stressed that all Malaysians must reject the act of seizing the human rights of the Palestinian people committed by the Zionist regime.
"Like any other human being with rights, the people of Gaza also should be able to enjoy their human rights but the Israelis have seized it.
"What is happening now is similar to the Holocaust in 1930 when the Jews in Germany had their rights taken away, resulting in the death of six million Jews.
"The world sympathised with the German Jews, with some rejecting the Nazis," he said in a post on X, today.
Besides, he added that the world is witnessing the Israeli Jews seizing the rights of the Palestinian people.
He said it was a humanitarian tragedy and the actions of the Zionist regime were similar to what the Nazis did to the Jews because it was unfair and inhumane.
"It is wrong when only Muslims demand the end of the mass killings committed by Israel.
"All Malaysians should feel disturbed and urge Israel's attacks on the Palestinian people to be stopped," he said.
