Communications and Digital Ministry staff urged to find work-life balance
PUTRAJAYA - Communications and Digital Ministry (KKD) staff should strive to find a balance between their work and personal lives as it is key to good mental health, happiness and increased productivity, said the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa.
Speaking at the launch of the ministry-level Psychology Day 2023 here today, he said work-life balance was becoming increasingly important in today’s fast-paced world with rising stress levels in the workplace.
"Remember that there is no specific or right or wrong way to achieve this balance. Every individual has different needs and priorities. Therefore, it is important to know yourself and find a suitable balance,” he said.
According to Mohamad Fauzi, KKD through its Human Resource Division (BSM), is always seeking various approaches to improve the quality of life and mental health of KKD staff.
"BSM also provides counselling services to ministry staff if you wish to discuss performance and career, health, family, skills development, finances, attitudes, psychosocial issues and others,” he said.
Mohamad Fauzi said employers could also play a role by reducing work-related stress and promoting a healthy working environment.
Regarding today’s event themed ‘Enhancing Human Capital Psychological Wellbeing: Work-Life Balance’, he hoped it would help to strengthen the potential of KKD staff to contribute to the success of the Malaysia Madani agenda through excellent service delivery.
During the event, Mohamad Fauzi also launched the ‘e-mentoring@KKD’ website, an initiative by BSM’s psychological management unit to digitalise mentoring programmes in the ministry starting this year.
The digital mentoring programme will allow mentors and mentees to conduct meetings and guidance sessions anywhere without the need for a physical logbook or guides. - BERNAMA
