PN MPs support Anwar for their own reasons - Jeli MP
ADILA SHARINNI WAHIDKOTA BHARU - Two Perikatan Nasional (PN) Members of Parliament (MPs) who recently expressed their support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim have their own reasons for doing so, said PN's Jeli MP Zahari Kechik.
"I respect the decision of both MPs because that is their right.
"It is possible that they have their own reasons for doing so," Zahari told Sinar today.
On Oct 12, Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid announced that he would support Anwar in his efforts to strengthen the economy, especially in his constituency, and to deal with the rising cost of living.
Today, Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman followed suit, saying that he had taken into account all the problems of the people in Labuan, including the increasing cost of living, water interruptions, and electricity supply disruptions.
Zahari said that he has yet to hear of any other Bersatu MPs who plan to support Anwar. He also reaffirmed his own loyalty to Bersatu.
Meanwhile, Iskandar, who was reportedly 'missing' from the Dewan Rakyat after making his statement, returned to Parliament today.
Bersatu had previously sent a show-cause letter to Iskandar and discussed his position in the party's supreme council meeting.
