Hanis Zalikha shares distressing update on father's post-fall complications
SHAH ALAM - Actress Hanis Zalikha is distressed over her father Zainal Rashid's deteriorating health, which has arisen from memory problems after a fall a month ago.
Although initially appearing uninjured with no visible major injuries, a significant impact on his skull has now manifested complications. "Post-fall X-rays and CT scans initially showed no abnormalities.
"However, within a few weeks, it became evident that blood had accumulated in a substantial portion of his brain," Hanis said.
Hanis updated her followers on her father's condition through an Instagram post, sharing a photo of him resting in a hospital.
Before hospitalisation, he had experienced mobility issues in his right leg and slowed speech.
"It's been a month since the fall, and he noticed sluggishness in his right leg, impairing its normal movement.
"We deduced that the brain might be involved because his fall had impacted the left side of his forehead, affecting the right side of his body.
"My father, once a quick-witted individual, began responding slowly, often with just one word," she said.
Alarmed by the continued symptoms, Hanis swiftly sought medical intervention, resulting in her father undergoing brain surgery.
"I consulted two specialists and a neurosurgeon.
"That evening, before his surgery, he revealed that he had driven himself to the hospital earlier," she added.
She expressed gratitude that the surgery, with Allah's grace and the medical team's expertise, was successful.
"The physician indicated that any further delay could have led to loss of speech, breathing difficulties, or even a coma due to the pressure from the excessive bleeding in the brain," added Hanis.
