KUALA LUMPUR - The opposition leader today urges the government not to be deterred by threats and continue to support Palestine.

Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said the solidarity organised by Pas today demonstrated that Malaysians continue to stand in solidarity with Palestine.

"We want to send a message to the Malaysian government not to be deterred by any threats and to consistently support Palestine's quest for freedom from Israel.

"As the opposition leader, I am requesting our government to approve a proposal to be presented in Parliament.

"We aim to have this issue debated in Parliament.

"We don't want those who claim to support Israel but are hypocritical," he said during his speech at the Pas Palestine Solidarity 10K.

Meanwhile, he also expressed his gratitude to the participants who joined the gathering to show solidarity for the Palestinians.

"Thank you and congratulations to all those who joined us today," he said.
