'Please display good conduct, do not make embarrassing statements' - Chan Quin Er
SHAH ALAM - MCA central committee member Chan Quin Er has criticised the action of Langkawi Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah for using words that violated the rules during a session in the Dewan Rakyat, yesterday.
Chan said Suhaimi should display good conduct instead of making embarrassing statements that demeaned women.
"I may not share the same political views as the Seputeh MP, but when it comes to women's issues, I can certainly stand in solidarity with anyone.
"The Langkawi MP should be aware that many people, including students are watching the proceedings in the Dewan Rakyat.
"So please, show good behaviour rather than making statements that are embarrassing and demeaning to women," she said in a Facebook post, yesterday.
Yesterday, Suhaimi was alleged to have used words that violated the rules during a debate on the Supply Bill 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat.
The issue was raised by Chong Zhemin (Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Kampar), referring to the phrase 'tidak pakai apa-apa' (not wearing anything) used by Suhaimi, directed at Teresa Kok (PH-Seputeh).
It all began when Kok interrupted Suhaimi's debate by asking if it was permissible to wear shorts in Langkawi.
