IPOH - The number of flood victims seeking shelter in two districts in Perak dropped to 268 people from 84 families as of 10 pm today.

The State Disaster Management Committee secretariat in a statement said in the Hilir Perak district, 227 victims from 75 families are at Dewan Serbaguna Padang Tembak and Dewan Majlis Perbandaran Teluk Intan (MPTI) Langkap relief centres.

"The Sekolah Kebangsaan Changkat Lobak relief centre in Kerian is housing 41 victims from nine families who are residents of Kampung Matang Tengah," read the statement.

Meanwhile, the Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) reported that though the Sungai Bidor water level has dropped, it is still at a dangerous level at 3.70 meters compared to 3.93 metres this morning.

Jalan Kubu Gajah Ijok-Sumpitan in Selama is still closed to all vehicles due to a landslide and road users have been advised to use Jalan Pintasan Kampung Sumpitan-Kampung Masjid as an alternative route.
