'Disclose the threats, pressure received' - Fadhli
SHAH ALAM - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim needs to state the form of threats and pressure received as a result of Malaysia's stance on the Palestinian-Israel issue.
Pas information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said if it was a real threat, then the authorities including the police and the intelligence service needed to increase security controls for the Prime Minister.
"We do not want the Prime Minister we love to be threatened and pressured because of the issue.
"That's why I think the Prime Minister needs to state what the threats and pressures are.
“If the intended threat is a security threat, immediate action by the government, especially security, is highly demanded," he said in a post on Facebook, today.
On Tuesday, Anwar during the ‘Perhimpunan Malaysia Bersama Palestin’ insisted that Malaysia would not bow to threats from major countries that defended Israel.
He said Muslims needed to stand up and unite to defend the rights of the Palestinian land from being further colonised by the Zionist regime.
Meanwhile, Fadhli added if there was no serious action in dealing with the issue, it seemed to reflect that the security forces did not believe in the threat.
"It is not explained what the pressure and threats are, what important is if the pressure is economic, it is quite sad.
"It is because in the situation where the Prime Minister had previously proposed that the violent acts of the Israeli regime be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the United Nations (UN) we did not even hear about this threat, suddenly today there is a bold party threatening our Prime Minister," he said.
