SHAH ALAM – The hashtag #genocidejoe is trending on social media platforms, including Facebook and X, with numerous Americans voicing their concerns over atrocities against Palestinians.

Recent developments involving Israeli colonisation of the Palestinian territories have raised international concerns, with allegations of unauthorised annexations, excessive military actions, and political expropriations.

Such actions have been condemned for violating both international law and human rights standards.

In response to these events, social media users, including Americans, have taken to platforms like Facebook and X to express their disapproval of both Israeli actions and those of US President Joe Biden.

They have shown solidarity with the Palestinians using the hashtag #genocidejoe.

“We won’t be sitting it out; we will be voting for a third party! Good luck selling #genocidejoe and defending colonisation and apartheid," social media user @IconMixedIt said.

Another user, @HoDan08415191, said on X, “#Genocidejoe can fool some but not the educated at Yale who stand against the daily bombing of civilians by the butcher of Gaza.”

“Israel lacks humanity and decency. All hostages released said they were treated well, while Israel continues its actions with #GenocideJoe's backing," X user, @umyaznemo said.

Joe Biden responded on X, saying that a convoy of humanitarian assistance reached Gaza following a Hamas raid on Israel earlier this month.

Yet, X users slammed Biden, associating him with the hashtag #genocidejoe.

"Stop pretending like you cared about the Palestinians. Hamas is fighting for the Palestinians freedom from Israel's 75 years of occupation. YOU are the REAL terrorist here, not Hamas. #GenocideJoe," @meispenat said.

“The whole world will remember you as #GenocideJoe your entire bloodline will carry that name as a memory of you as a war criminal," @LeHolyNour said.

“If the people who voted for you are giving you the nickname #genocidejoe, your reelection campaign is toast," @garbag3_can_ said.

Various netizens have shared videos and posts highlighting the situation, with some social media users sharing distressing footage of affected children.

“In every one of these videos that I’ve seen, where the child is thankfully and blessedly alive, I’ve noticed the same thing over and over.

"All of their little bodies shake with clinical shock.

"The trauma, both physical and emotional, is overwhelming.

"I just don’t understand why we’re letting this happen, so many dead babies or babies so traumatised that they’ll never recover.

It’s an extermination captured in real time on social media platforms. Utterly unbelievable and unforgivable. #Palestine #GenocideJoe #Stopthegenocide," user @HeatherLampe said.

Another Facebook user, @Megan Vyn Blackmon, gave an extended critique of the situation, condemning both Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu and expressing strong support for Palestine.

“There are 2.2 million people in Gaza with half of them being children. They have no army; they don’t even have running water or electricity... this is genocide this is not a war.

"There was supposed to be protests the Israel leaders literally the day the festival tragedy happened... Gaza CANNOT defend itself in a literal sense... but Israel wants to play victim when they literally started ALL OF THIS! You can’t be a victim if you are the oppressor!

This is sickening and inhumane. Israel literally compared them to human animals and has treated them as such.

"If you support anything other than free these HUMANS delete me now.

"Israel is Christopher Columbusing the Palestinians, and our government supports this.

"This is ethnical cleansing, and it is genocide. Open your eyes, look up children in Gaza in your google image search.

"Israeli soldiers are posting themselves dancing at their base, while Gaza children are writing their names on their arms to identify them when they get bombed.

"They are using ice cream trucks to store dead bodies because the hospital morgues are full.

"They bombed that hospital; they admitted it and then deleted the tweet after they didn’t get the response they wanted. They have bombed 22 hospitals in Gaza.

"They told them to leave their homes and then bombarded them as they left. Bombed ambulances, bombed warehouses that were giving supplies. This has been happening for over 75 years and it needs to stop. Please stop watching mainstream media and propaganda. Fuck Joe Biden and fuck Benjamin Netanyahu. #FreePalestine," he added.

Facebook user @CamilleJeannine stressed solidarity, quoting Malcolm X, and highlighted the importance of viewing the situation from various angles.

“We can't cherry pick liberation. Our liberation is bound to one another. We can only get free TOGETHER.

"The only way we’ll get freedom for ourselves is to identify ourselves with every oppressed person in the world. - Malcom X.

"Make no mistake, those opposing Palestinian resistance would've opposed every slave revolt in history.

“If you’re not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people being oppressed and loving those doing the oppressing.” WAKE UP!!!! From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," she said.
