SHAH ALAM – In his winding-up speech at the 69th Pas Muktamar, party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang urges members not to undermine their own cause and sink their own ship.

The Marang MP also called on all party members to play a vital role including all the branch levels to assist the government and point out all the weaknesses.

“A Hadith by Prophet Muhammad SAW, saying on the hasty act of puncturing the ship people were on to quickly draw water, resulted in all passengers suffering the consequences,” he said at the Pas Muktamar held at the Ideal Convention Centre, here, today,

He added that the challenges faced by the Islamic religion in this country which has persistently been challenged by various entities through diverse means, called for Pas to address these challenges.

On top of that, he also elaborated on the power of governance that established the order of prayer, charity and welfare while preventing wrongdoing, emphasising that these actions in the world should also be mindful of the hereafter.

“Pas has experienced a lot of oppression. We were victims of oppression throughout our struggle. We were sacrificed, oppressed and marginalised.

“This has taught us that when we come to power, we must not be unjust to others. This is very important. We should not seek revenge.

"This is what our Prophet taught us - to be patient. We consider it a lesson in our struggle. We should not behave like the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, which claims to fight against oppression but, in reality, perpetuates oppression,” he added.
