SHAH ALAM - The odds may appear to be against them, with the devastating siege and bombings implying impending defeat but not once have the Palestinians in Gaza ever contemplated surrender.

Why? They believed that the promised time will come when their stolen lands — robbed by the Zionist regime — be freed from the colonial shackles.

“The Al-Aqsa Mosque will be freed from Israel’s grip. The time will come when we will win and make Israel bow. End their arrogance,” said Syeikh Khaled Ghawannah, a leader of the Jihad Islami Paletine — the non-military arm of the Al-Quds Brigade.

He was speaking at a night ceramah held in conjunction with the 69th Pas Muktamar, held here, tonight.

Khalid continued his speech, stressing that the Oct 7 cross-border operation on Israel, launched by Hamas from Gaza was the start of the promised freedom foretold by Allah S.W.T.

“The Palestinians have two choices.

“Either to sit idly by and witness the complete creation of the illegal country of Israel or to fight tooth-and-nail against the Zionist regime. That is our stance.

“But what about the rest of the Muslims across the world? Will all of you abandon us to face Israel on our own?,” he asked the crowd clad in a myriad of the iconic green Pas hue.

An echo of “la” reverberated from the floor. It’s Arabic for no.

“If that is your answer, then please, I beseech you. Offer us what you can, be it gold or prayers,” Khalid said as he ended his speech.
