Criticised Palestine dUCk collection garners RM600,000 for donation
SHAH ALAM - Despite criticisms thrown at its Palestine dUCk collection, the Duck Group managed to garner RM600,000 funds to help the Palestinians in Gaza.
In an Instagram post, the modest fashion brand said the donation will be channelled via Viva Palestina Malaysia (VPM) to help with fueling hospitals, medical supplies, temporary shelter and food for the people of Palestine.
"The donation has been deployed and already, the VPM team in Gaza has started their work.
"This morning alone, they have fed 2,000 Gazans with hot meals - all because of you!," the post read.
It said although the Palestine dUCk collection has ended, they urged people to keep showing their support to Palestine and continue speaking up, sharing, donating and 'wearing' their support.
Previously, the Duck Group was criticised as it released its Palestine-themed collection to raise funds for the Palestinian cause amid the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on Oct 7.
However, the collection was seen as a move by the company to profit from other people's suffering.
Its founder Vivy Yusof then took to her Instagram to address the criticisms, clarifying that all the charity funds were aimed to provide medical supplies, shelter and food for Palestinians.
