KUALA LUMPUR - One of the challenges faced by those who just converted to Islam is being driven out or chased away by their family.

The Federal Territories Islamic Religion Department (Jawi) in a statement said to ease their burden, the department has provided temporary accommodation at the Darul Hidayah Complex in Sentul, especially for those who have no place to go.

According to the statement, Jawi also offered guidance such as Tahsin al-Quran classes, to the group of people who would receive allowance each time they attend the classes.

"Besides that, they were also given RM3,000 contribution and a kit which comprised a quran, books, clothes and prayer kit after registration.

"Jawi also provides study classes for those who have just converted to Islam for basic, intermediate and advanced levels for one year and six months for each level," the statement said.

It added that new Muslim converts who needed help or to find out more information could reach Jawi at 03-22749333.
