SHAH ALAM - Umno supreme council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi has slammed Pas for what he described as arrogance and greed when the party expressed its desire to regain control of the Federal Government soon.

He argued that Pas Deputy President Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, during the 64th Pas Youth Muktamar, indicated that the effort to establish another "sky-high government" is still ongoing.

"This implies that the Unity Government will collapse. How? It can only be through the roof or the departure of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

"According to Tuan Ibrahim, when Pas had 18 seats, they were part of the government, but in the 15th General Election, when they had many seats but were in the opposition, it seemed like an apocalypse.

"He described it as terrifying," he wrote on his Facebook today.

Yesterday, Tuan Ibrahim reportedly expressed confidence that his party would soon be part of the coalition leading the Federal administration.

He stressed that foreign leaders who had met with him also shared their belief that the future of Malaysia is in the hands of Pas and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Puad further pointed out that Pas's various attempts to seize power from its political opponents, both at the Federal and state levels, have not been successful.

"For instance, they attempted to take the position of Pahang Menteri Besar, but their effort to 'buy' 10 Umno Members of Parliament failed.

"Moreover, it was an unattainable goal as the party had defied the order of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong," he added.
