Pas Ulama Council polls: Everyone won uncontested
SHAH ALAM – The Pas Central Ulama Council elections concluded smoothly as every single candidate contending for the divisional positions available in its 62nd Muktamar today emerged as uncontested winners.
The results were officially announced by the Pas Central Election Committee for the 69th Muktamar chairman Ab Halim Tamuri at 12.30pm.
He declared Datuk Ahmad Yahaya as the uncontested victor for the post of Ulama Council chief.
"Ahmad secured the post because Datuk Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh withdrew his candidacy for the chief position.
"He expressed his intent to concentrate on his responsibilities as the secretary of Pas' Syura Council," Ab. Halim stated during the Ulama Council's Muktamar.
Ahmad, the member of parliament of Pokok Sena's victory marked his second term as Ulama Council chief, following his initial win in the 2021 polls.
