In her keynote speech, addressing the party's women's wing, Pas Muslimat chief Hajah Nuridah Mohd Salleh said the wing's main objective was to unite all Muslim women in the nation.
“We must uphold what we believe in and confront those like (DAP) when they touch upon Pas’s core principles, as well as several key issues concerning the interests of Islam and the sovereignty of Malay Muslims,” she said at the women wing's assembly ahead of the party's 69th Muktamar held at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, tonight.
Nuridah said Pas Muslimat's focus has always been fostering a sense of responsibility towards religion and the nation.
She added that in Islamic history, the practical evidence of the involvement of Muslim women in the field of promoting virtue and preventing vice, as exemplified in the life of the Prophet Muhammad and the broader context of Islamic history, is abundantly clear.
“In every series of cooperation forged by this party our wing consistently lends its support to every decision and works in harmony within the framework of cooperation with the women's wings of other parties.
“Besides that, Pas Muslimat remains committed to building unity and continuously strengthening understanding, especially among our members,”she said.
