School chair prank leaves girl with cerebral palsy bedridden
SHARIFAH SHAHIRAHSHAH ALAM - A young girl with cerebral palsy was rushed to the hospital and became bedridden after her friend at school pranked her by pulling the chair she was sitting on, causing her to fall.
In a video shared by her mother on TikTok, the victim, identified as Iqa, cried in agony as she lay on a hospital bed.
"Please pray for Iqa and us to ensure we endure this test with greater strength.
"As a mother, I will always love you, Iqa. My lovely girl must also be strong as a daughter.
"Despite her cerebral palsy, she has taught me the value of life.
"I have raised Iqa the same way I have raised my other children, teaching her to be independent.
"However, I am devastated this time," the mother said.
She claimed that a friend had pulled Iqa's chair out from beneath her while playing a prank on her.
The 20-second video has garnered over 1.1 million views, with many people commenting that they or their children have been victims of similar chair pranks at school.
"My son also went through the same fate.
"He was on crutches when he was six-years-old and couldn't walk normally for a month.
"Thankfully, conventional therapy was able to heal him in the end," commented user @Bakawali13.
"The same reason paralysed half of the body of a boy in my village," commented @Hasim bin Zambran.
"There are many cases like this. Teachers should remind the students about the danger of pulling the chair," user @semuanyapinjamanAllah said.
Iqa's mother is urging everyone to take school chair pranks seriously and to warn children about the dangers of this type of behavior.
"It is necessary to inform everyone of the dangers that these jokes pose. We are the ones experiencing this right now. Please pray for Iqa's rapid recovery, amen," she added.
